Teach Business English is dedicated to training teachers in the field of English for business communications and in cross-cultural awareness. To consider further whether the move to teaching business English is for you, read my article on this topic.

The five-module distance learning programme can be undertaken anywhere in the world and completed in your own time. Participants receive the modules and complete the assignments by email. These are marked and upon satisfactory completion of each one, the student progresses to the next module. We offer online support in the form of:

• Online resources—regularly updated links to useful Internet resources for teachers
• A reading list
• An online forum where students can exchange ideas with their peers:Teach Business English
• A newsletter with tips and ideas for teaching business English.

Key Personnel

Dr. Brenda Townsend Hall

Academic direction is the responsibility of Brenda Townsend Hall, a very experienced English language teacher, teacher trainer, business English trainer and training consultant. Among previous original contributions to business English training, Dr Townsend Hall has worked with the British Council to produce: Language Teaching for Business, a video-based EFL training package for business English trainers (1994)and has authored a multi-media distance learning package, Negotiating in English, for the French Ministry of Education (2000).She authored the first ever Welfare Officers' training course in the UK for ARELS and most recently has produced a series of training modules for call-centre staff working for a major bank.
